New York Helicopter Tour:

Helicopter Flight Services is proud to operate top-of-the-line, high-performance Bell407 (up to 6 pax) and EC130 (up to 7 pax) helicopters. The spacious cabins and high visibility windows have been specially designed for sightseeing which allows 180 degree views; no other helicopter operator in New York City can offer these unobstructed views. The Bell and EC130 have proven to be safe, fast and powerful helicopters giving an incredibly smooth ride in virtually all conditions.

Pilots are specially trained on both types of helicopters and the state-of-the-art safety system, TCAS. TCAS is an onboard radar system that allows pilots the advantage of managing the air traffic around them. All passengers enjoy their flight with voice interactive headsets to hear and speak to the pilot and each other.

Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum:

Audio Tour

As you walk the ship, hear from the pilots and crew members who were here during her greatest days (and most challenging) – including special stories from President George H.W. Bush, General Colin Powell, Senator John McCain and Astronaut Scott Carpenter – as well as the Museum leaders, volunteers and tour guides who help bring those stories to life everyday.

With tours tailored for children, adults and the hearing impaired – and suggested stopping points timed to fit your schedule – this is the most complete way to experience Intrepid, whether it’s your first time here, or on a return trip.

Available in multiple languages: English, Spanish, Italian, French, Japanese, Chinese, and German

Intrepid Aircraft Carrier

Launched in 1943, the aircraft carrier Intrepid fought in World War II, surviving five kamikaze attacks and one torpedo strike. The ship later served in the Cold War and the Vietnam War. Intrepid also served as a NASA recovery vessel in the 1960s. More than 50,000 men served on board Intrepid during the ship’s time in service, and more than 270 men made the ultimate sacrifice. Intrepid was decommissioned in 1974. Today, Intrepid is berthed on the Hudson River as the centerpiece of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

Growler Submarine

The former USS Growler first opened at the Intrepid Museum in 1989 and is the only American guided missile submarine open to the public. Growler offers museum visitors a firsthand look at life aboard a submarine and a close-up inspection of the once “top-secret” missile command center. Access is available to the various compartments as they were used during operations.

The line to the submarine Growler and exhibition may close early.

Please note the following requirements to enter the Growler:

All guests must be able to pass through the replica hatch without assistance.
Areas inside are narrow and may not be suitable for guests with claustrophobia.
Guests must be at least 40 inches tall.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Strollers, large bags and backpacks are not permitted.
Food and beverages are not permitted.

Space Shuttle Pavillion

The Space Shuttle Pavilion showcases the space shuttle Enterprise, the prototype NASA orbiter that paved the way for the space shuttle program. Seventeen dynamic exhibit zones feature original artifacts, photographs, audio, and films that immerse visitors in the science and history of Enterprise and the space shuttle era.
