For a healthy oral flora Oil pulling is a well-known treatment in Ayurveda. Originally, this treatment was made using pure sunflower oil. This product, however, was made on the basis of sesame oil, as this oil possesses purifying properties. In addition, sesame oil has an effect on the reflex zones of the tongue, which in turn are connected to the internal organs. Therefore, the duration of the oil pulling now only needs 3 – 5 minutes compared to the traditional 15-20 minutes.
